some know problems.
by guest on Aug 12, 2008 07:20 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

we have a few simple basic problems deep-rooted in our culture.

1) Dowry (a major portion of our corruption can be directly attributed to this)
2) Arranged marriages. It sounds naive to say that it is a problem. But it is. The creativity of a man is directly linked to his need for impressing a woman. If a woman is guaranteed, why would he worry? None of the developed countries have arranged marriage. Heck, Japan became developed after they started supporting love marriages.!

I have due respect to Mr.Kalam and everyone who wants India developed. But if we are trying to be developed keeping our basic problems unresolved, that's impossible. It's like saying "I want to be the Pope; but I'll still be a Hindu"

2. There is no guarantee of woman in arranged marriage and no guarantee of a good woman too. abhee Kalam ko dekh naa, zindagee bhar haath ke sahare nikal dee! aur creativity hee creativity!!

1) People want more and more money mostly for their kids. their marriages, their studies, etc, etc. In US a policeman generally don't corrupt because he don't need to. (Now don't start US hate messages.)

2) I am not talking about how you can get a good woman. I am talking about how India can be developed.

And we need a common language too. I didnt understand half of what you said in hinglish. :)
