Only time will unfold things. All the people you mentioned are previous decades where there was no alternative in Govt and where there was not so much media. People have relatively(slightly) been better compared to people from those decades.
This guy Chiru is coming out very well planned and with good, bright minds working on his party infrastructure and policies. On top of this, they are going to work with Lok Satta. They are coming out with good intentions and to bring changes which are sustainable.
Only time will tell if his party is going to be remembered in the history as a role model party or another party. Why do you want make hasty decisions and bring comparisions if you really do not what is happening behind the scenes with his party.

The way you are using "yours" and "ours" shows your sick mentality ... Your A.R. Rahman works in Hindi movies to get national recognition... anyway its one nation and he can work wherever he wants .. u keep differentiating between "your" cinema and "our" cinema
