The govt of India spent crores on widening Delhi roads, not for elites to buy up cars. It is time for people to use public transport in Delhi. The govt must replicate the same system in all major cities as well- introduce metro quickly and strengthen mass transport. On another note, looks like we are still ill-prepared to host the commonwealth games, despite pouring 20K crores on metro, an equal sum on stadia. Taking a big picture view: We could have spent part of this money on improving schools in North India or even clean drinking water everywhere. That would also prevent migration into Delhi.
