technically and in terms of direction and acting, movie is superb. However, the whole purpose of it is to show the worst of India and even to cut India down to size. Implying that except for some call center outsourcing, India is nothing but slums. Even the call center focus is degrading as if India's only strength is call-centers - typical Western view.
Granted that India has large poverty population but slums are there in US, etc. too. Actually, the movie could be fully transplanted to US with blacks taking the place of slumdogs as shown in movie.
a movie of India, but by the west and for the west.

dude really sorry but this is a great story...wat is shown is the reality wat happens in india...look at the streets in india are full of beggars and have u wondered why thy are mostly disabled...??..and pls lets not get racial and call blacks as slumdogs..thy are..america is goin on a black revolution..look at their president and black are everywhere ..call it hip hop or r&b or rap ruling the charts all over the world...
