sure it is!And more insulting is calling somone living in a slum as a "dog" It is a shame on us that we should accept such gallis against us without a murmur!

offcourse "calling someone dog is insulting" and we should protest that the word slumdog isnt indian. true because it is not indian word. we dont call slum people "dog".
but what about the treatment that these slum people get? dont the other indians(financially better in condition) treat those slum people like dog??
so which is worser? calling someone a dog? or treating someone a dog? you cant deny that slum people are treated like dog in india. so shame on us that this happen in india.
