An awe-inspiring movie, brilliant spirited women, and SRK's best performance thus far
by Genuine Gal on Aug 16, 2007 08:28 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I have never been a great fan of Shah Rukh Khan (except in Fauji and Circus) and I used to think that he has packed his acting talent away somewhere, doing only supercial roles in melodramatic movies, but with this movie, he really brought it back out of the closet, and I've really now become a Shah Rukh fan. He has come of age with this performance, which I think is his best so far! Chak de Shah Rukh! Please sign up for more movies like this!

Finally, I loved every one of the girls in the movie, they were so real, and represented the real Indian women from different parts of India, and they gave an amazing performance. The movie also brought to light the fact that on the eve of the 60th year of Indian Independence, it is up to the women of India, to come out and do their best in their respective fields, and do the nation proud. A truly inspiring movie. Go Girls!

Dude( going by your heightened sense of other people's ignorance in front of your own superior knowledge, i can only assume such!!).... but most people happened to see this movie in a certain context, and not in isolation.....it dealt with multiple issues at the same time:
1. Our National Sport not being recognized
2. Bias against women
3. Bias about Muslims
4. People from all states not being recognized
5. The eternally cultural, ego clashes within teammates
6. Lack of fitness within sports teams, and inability to play as a team(playing for self)

WHAT OTHER HOLLYWOOD MOVIE HAS THROWN LIGHT ON SO MANY QUESTIONS AT ONCE!!!!

I would say that the storyline had multiple plots going on, so even if part of the screenplay was a copy, the overall theme was intact, and indeed unique, and a first in Indian, and any other cinema!! 200 points on 100 for the movie, even if it is a copy 10 times over!!

Hey Genuine, your write up of the movie is as genuine as you are. I liked the way you wrote the whole review. These days we rarely find anyone so genuine.
