hungery for heroes...
by Harjeet Singh on Aug 18, 2007 11:20 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Our country and especially its middle class is so starved of heroes that even below average movies like gaddar and now chak de are lapped up by the public to boost up the flagging indian male ego(....yes this film is about the male ego rather than female....try to see more clearly)....
the movie is just the stale old emotion filled versions usually dished out by the yash raj ilk masquerading as some sophisticated movie on the sports issues plaguing our country....
if emotion and jingoistic talks about team work crap can win world championships then only god save this country....
the movie is the usual masala kind diched out every second day by these masala banners of karan johar/yash raj kinds...

mr. harjeet its not a masala movie like any other. today in kolkata a renown bengali news paper called ANADABAZAR PATRIKA gave an interview of famous football coach Subrata Bhattacharjee who himself is a coach of national club like East Bengal. He himself admitted in the news paper that whatever CDI have shown are the original facts. Even he wrote in his article that "I become amazed by the film. I can not understand how the director of the film knew the true feeling of a playing camp. Because whatever they shown in their film it is the true way to deal with the players of this country. That is the reason why Greig Chappel was not become succsesful but Kabir Khan become succesful." So I think your poin of view completely wrong.

if some body thinks that by just gettin an emotinally charged national coach and instilling team work we can become world champions then he/she is livin in a fools paradise.......mr subrata bhattacharjee should know it better....
and now if mr subrata bhattacharjee has been so moved and enlightened about the problems of indian football teams should we expect east bengal to be graduate into the league of clubs like manchester united/real madrid??????.....shouldnt we Mr Sen?????

Mr Harjeet Singh, can u give us some idea what kind of movies r inspirational to you? because of skeptical people like you, there is no appreciation of even positive things coming out from our midst, and all you do is criticize media/country.
Why can't people like you watch a really genuine movie and take the good out of it, than to comment what 'hidden' motives are behind it.
What you need to realize is that you do not need heroes for getting anything good out of the country. It is the collective spirit of ordinary people trying to do extraordinary things that make inspirational. But alas, people like you cannot appreciate it.
