The most bullshit movie of the year award goes to WATER.Sorry seema biswas after posing yourself fully naked in BANDIT QUEEN, did not get any oscar.Deepa's husband tried his best to get the oscar for her film Water, but it was really the cheapest movie trying to get some fame by dipicting some old outdated cultural drawbacks.These indians should never be allowed to enter india and make mockery of indian culture.

so you only wan tot see the hanky pankies and running around trees and singings and half naked actresses and thats it...... when someone touches a "dukhti rag" in our society, we scream on top of our lungs...... i think water brought up a very important issue which 80% if us didnt even know about. Rather than lookin gat it positively, why are we taking it os negatively... why dont we think this way "look where we were (child marriages and child widows etc) and where we are now, our daughters, sisters (women of our nation) are achieving high...... we have come up so much.....proud to be from the same nation as Kalpana Chawla, Sunita Williams...... Indira Gandhi for being the first female leader..... (even though i am totally against the way she used to think).... but still, our daughters can do much more if we support them rather than sending them to those widow houses and stooping them so low in our society etc........ so look at this film positively and be proud of it........ that atleast it brought up a social issue of that era........

How can anyone with the least bit of Intelligence say that the issues shown in WATER are some "OLD OUTDATED CULTURAL DRAWBACK". Many of us have seen our own grandmothers who faced widowhood at a very young age (as young as 21) then having their head tonsured and living a miserable life !!! Now times have changed, and we dont understand what exactly it is like to go through it !! to Life that life !! I have seen my own grandmother and heard heart breaking stories of customs prevalent during her time .. I am sure many among you have seen this too !!

Are you trying to tell me that we keep a closed eye to stuff which is shown in water...there are tons of villages in india which still follows these rituals....being a research student i get to travel to the interiors of india and it is gruesome...
One should take these movies vely and use them to highlight the plights of these people...
