Glad to see that there are very few North vs South fights in this page. Usually such topics on south actors soon become a place for everyone to vent out their anger against others. I have seen it happen whenever the name 'Rajinikanth' is mentioned(God knows why this humble soul is hated so much by some in India). This clearly means Kamal Haasan is a fairly successful actor and is being admired by several north/east/west indians, not to mention that he has millions of fans in the south. There are at least half a dozen movies of his which have become mighty hits in Hindi - Saagar, Ek Duje Ke Liye, Appu Raja, Geraftar, Pushpak, Chachi 420, Hindustani. Some other movies though were not hits are critically accliamed - Hey Ram, Sadma. Though many others like Rajini, Chiru, Nagarjuna have acted in Hindi it is Kamal who has always been the most popular among all. After all, Ek Duje Ke Liye was released almost 30 years back and he is still considered a heartthrob in India!!!
