Demise of Sujatha, the Legendary tamil writer
by TVViswanathan on Feb 28, 2008 04:41 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

He has been writing for more than 40 years. He has thousands of fans of 3rd or even 4th generation.Next to Kalki Krishnamurthy,he is the most popular/sought after writer in Tamilnadu. He used to write poetry,prose,drama,story/dialog for some hit movies.Whenever u open a book and u find a story/article by him,any reader will have curiosity/interest to immediately read it.Literary world is orphanned by his loss.No other writer is anywhere near him.

I agree with you. He is very near Kalki and just behind him in modern Tamil literary greatness. You can't pause/stop in between once you start reading any of his articles - may it be a short story, novel or just science questions and answers. He compromised some of his quality for Movies but true Sujatha lovers will remember him more for his writings than his contributions to film industry. Great loss to all of us
