Let us be sensitive to the local culture
by Kande Pohe on Sep 09, 2008 03:47 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Yes, Hindi is our national language and we can speak our own language anywhere in democratic nation such as India. Most NRIs in USA celebrate American festivals in USA. Most NRI kids speak American English in USA besides their own language. I am myself a Gujarati born and brought in Maharashtra. I do speak in Marathi in addition to Gujarati, Hindi and English. It is important to respect local culture and learn local language wherever we settle.

But nobody can force .... neither hindi is forced ....its maximum part of india that can communicate with each other in a language that is much popular than any other .... take for e.g. english though not so much strong language it beats french or german .... around the world....
if someone moves for few months or years .... he may not be supposed or forced ....
i lived for 10 years in maharashtra .....
actually the first language i spoke with friends .......... marathi were always nice and gud people .... now this raj thakarey row ...is just spoiling ...atmosphere ......
i still believe majority of marathi donot bother about this stupid polititian with no ...future ....
maharashtra is the place where i spent childhood ..... i love india ....
hope people don't force haterate

It does not mean that majority speaks hindi so that it is national language. Hoy many people and how many days you peopole will jump on this. If that is the case. You have to diclare this is Sanadhan Country (Hindu country) Diclare this first. Then you are Hindi man. Do you have the intention to diclare this?
