This is just an observation. I am a staunch believer in the Hindu way of life - non-violence, industrious and socially productive work and at least minimal spiritual direction.

Would you say that Shivaji Maharaj should not have liberated Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and parts of Tamil Nadu from erstwhile cruel Moghul kings? Did not Shivaji Maharaj himself send so many Maharashtrians to other parts of the country to ensure that these very divisions would not happen? Was not Shivaji Maharaj a perfect politician and strategist? Is not Rajnikant an example of exactly this population?
Would Shivaji Maharaj tolerate this divisive system? Was Lord Ram not from UP? Lord Krishna? Both Ram and Krishna travelled the entire Indian subcontinent without opposition.
That means that even at that time, with all the various kingdoms, big and small, India had a strong bond, much like the EU today.
So, when we have a federally structured constitution with proper separation of State and Union portfolios, and a better democracy than the US, why should this politics of division make sense to anyone?
Would you not agree that had this kind of divisive politics happened back then, human supporters of Ram and Krishna would have faced problems? Are we greater than the two Avatars, to state that India is not a whole? Would you chuck out Kabir? Or Radha? Or Sudama? Or would you want Birbal to not come to Maharashtra?

Why did we, Marathi manoos, support Kar Seva in a foreign state? Why did Veer Savarkar collaborate with Bengali revolutionaries? Why is Netaji not called a "Bong"? Why is he a hero? Why did Gujarati Bhulabhai Desai argue for Netaji's army in court and secure the release? Why are we, Marathi manoos, proud of Bhagat Singh? Of Chandrashekhar Azad?
Why have we forgotten Lal, Bal, Pal? Why did Sardar Patel a Gujarati, not demand a separate Gujarat? Why do today's politicians think that they are better than Sardar Patel? What did Sardar Pael do? Did he break India into smaller parts or force whimsical kingdoms to join the Indian Union? Was Sardar Patel foolish? Are we better statesmen and leaders than Sardar Patel, Netaji, Shivaji Maharaj? Why did Veer Savarkar not ask for a separate Marathi State?
If anyone wants the good of the Marathi manoos, he should talk positive things about making jobs available by using money from his pocket or by starting industries by using his word. No by dividing people like this. That is stupid and foolish. WE are weakening ourselves by doing this. The marathi manoos is now going to be mistreated in North India. Did we want this? What happens when you want to go to Mathura, Kashi, Badri, Kedar, Rameshwar and the locals start creating problems just because you are Marathi? Is this called common sense? Is this patriotism? or is it foolishness?

Good Article, Mr. Nayak !

Let me bring you back into the present day reality of Maharashtra.

In the last 5-10 years, there has been an unprecendently MASSIVE influx of Hindi-bhashi migrants into Maharashtra and that is creating myriad problems for Maharashtrians.

* Marathi culture and language are being side-lined within their own state as these migrants do not assimilate, but instead re-enforce their identity and loyalty with their home-states.

* Infrastructure cannot take the load of these migrants as proportionately the Cenral funding for these states are not diverted into Maharashtra to compensate for the extra burden.

* Migrants are in the fore-front of illegal activities like building slums, hawking on roads without licenses, plying 15-20 yr old taxis with illegal permits, and so on. Migrants seek regularisation of their activities by forming vote-banks and getting their politicians elected to power.

* The WORST part is the natural inclination of Hindi-bhashi migrants to politics, where they form a (UP/Bihar)region-based huge vote-bank within Maharashra. Self-serving politicians like Amar Singh, Laloo Yadav and Mulayam Singh are grabbing this opportunity and are making these presence felt by organising political rallies like UP Din and Desh Bachao Rallies where lakhs of these migrants attend in strength.

If the above problems contine, Maharashtra will soon turn into Bihar, then your national integration message is irrelevant.

Fighting f
