He is just an ordinary actor who looks 'great' because all other Tamil actors are mediocre. He pales in comparison to genuine greats like Mohanlal and Mammootty.

ha ha ha...kamal, an over-rated actor? This shows u know nothing about acting. I agree mammootty and lal are great actors, but definitely not as versatile as kamal. he is the best actor in India, if not the world!
I dont know how come a child like you who is not yet matured has learnt to browse rediff and post comments...great huh !!! Kamal is over rated thats the best joke...next is all other TN actors are mediocre...ajith,surya,ravi,arjun ?? mediocre huh !!! Biggest is kamal is an ordinary actor...4 national awards for an ord actor...and loads of filmfare and world awards...
Where u r from? we don't want ur certification for the super actor. He proveed what he is... mamooty and mohanlal are best but if u compare them with kamal.. I think u don't have eyes..Bye

ur right all other tamil actors are medicore thats why Tamil movie run full houses in Kerala when ur own LAL & MAMOTTY film flopped during simultaneous release in gods won country. Example POKIRI of VIJAY ran for 100 days in Kerala.

Mr. SM: certainly not "ordinary". He is most versatile actor in our country. His range is simply amazing. You cannot say the same about Mammootty and Mohanlal. Although both of them are very their range is very limited.

Simply applying some weird make up(Indian), growling when angry(Guna) and howling while crying(Nayagan) does not make a good actor. He is not a patch on Mohanlal and Mammootty.

yep its the other way round. Dont compare with Mammootty or ML, although am a fan of both, Kamal is far versatile. I suggest you spend this weekend watching all his movies, rent some dvds dude. Have fun and get enlightened.

If Indian had weird makeup, then Pondanmada too had weird makeup...There are movies in which lal and mammooty have done their growling part as well..Mohanlal and Mamooty are definitely great actors but Kamal scores over them in 3 respects. (1) He doesnt have a language barrier. His portrayals in Tamil,Telugu ,kannada and hindi films have all won him laurels(Incidentally it was a Malayalam movie "Kanyakumari" which fecthed him his first filmfare award when he was just 19.Everyone knows that his first national award came when he was just 6).Well,I can only think of Mohanlal pronouncing "Loha geram hi" in Ram Gopal Varma's Aag (2)Versatility - It will definitely be an eyesore to watch mammoty or lal romancing younger heroines and running around trees. On the other hand kamal has aged gracefully. (3)Acquintance and excellence in all departments of cinema - How many movies have Mammooty/Mohanlal produced/directed? How many movies have they written dialogues/story/screen play/lyrics for? Dont just look upon kamal as an actor. He is an institution by himself. Mohanlal and Mamooty have definitely worked well within the parameters of malayalam cinema whereas kamal atleast attempts to do something to bring indian movies to international arena. Kamal can definitely try doing a vanaprastham. It wont be bad. But cant imagine mammooty or mohanlal doing a sagara sangamam. Have mohanlal or mammooty reduced weight for any of the roles they have done so far? Not at all.Home work-kamal scores.
