amazed

The extent of hate on these message boards against rediff reviewers is truly amazing - earlier when Sukanya Verma used to write reviews, she used to get the same treatment as being meted out to Raja. And I really wonder why.

- Is it that people just don't understand the reviewer's English and are annoyed by that?
- Is it that people cannot stand anyone saying the truth about hindi movies - that most of them are badly made, have no storyline, bad acting, dialogues etc. ?

I mostly find the rediff reviews extremely accurate. Fortunately I understand the English as well, so I really look forward to reading the well written reviews by Raja Sen.

Thank you to let us know about your knowledge about english. Henceforth we we'll read the reviews with Oxford English dictionary beside us. What an idea to make raja's reviews more understandable.

there is a certain thrill people seem to experience by disagreeing. A sense of oneupmanship. It is quite disturbing, and is, if you think about it, unique to only a few cultures, like ours. Don't mean to sound silly by taking this to a larger social context, but you'll always come across far more criticism than consent. And any consent you do come across will be so meek that it won't stand a chance against the sheer vehemence of the phoo-phooing.

So, as a salute to vehemence, and perhaps the harbinger of positive responses - RAJA SEN IS RIGHT!!!! (Ahem, most of the time).
