Saawariya %u2013 shocking disappointment

Unlike SLB%u2019s previous movies, Saawariya fails to arouse any emotion in the audience whatsoever and the disappointment on their faces was obvious, while leaving the movie hall. As a movie enthusiast, I have watched a wide variety of artistic movies in my career and understand that they are primarily based on dialogues, sets, acting and expressions, just like this one; however, there is a huge array of basic elements missing in this movie like, chemistry between the debut actors and an overdose of other elements like, unnecessary exposure of Raj%u2019s buttocks, monotonous scenes, and a poorly constructed set. Additionally, Sanjay Leela Bhansali%u2019s taste in characters is becoming more like a cookie cut factory where all his female protagonists come with the same long hair, same old flowy outfits, drop their payal, and never get together with %u201Chero%u201D at the end%u2026need I say more?! To make matters worse, the set was a dark and dingy %u201Cchow chow bhath%u201D of Paris%u2019 Moulin rouge, Venetian gondolas, American mid-town caf?and some local bars. This movie is a classic example of an excellent concept simply gone wrong! As a movie critique, I will give this movie 2.5 stars merely for the Shaan%u2019s singing ability, the apparent effort on the sets, and acting skills of the debuts. Anyway, if anyone is interested in watching this movie in Auckland (NZ) it is running in Hoyts, Sylvia Park. I felt like ...
