As far as south goes, Tamil and Telugu produce blockbusters. Tamil movies particularly stand apart and even outclass dumb bollywood movies with the same love triangle stories and some useless lullaby songs with the same old tune..Tamil rocks in terms of technological brilliance, originality, musical splendour. Bollywood survives only bcos 85% of people in India know Hindi. Our 5 % has the stuff to cross international boundaries! Tamizh Vaazhga !!

True. Thats why Tamil Directors like Mani Rathnam, Technicians like Ravi.K Chandran, Prabhu Deva, Kamal Haasan and not to leave A.R. Rehman have made their strong presence in Bollywood too. This doesnt happen from Karnataka and Andhra.But i dont agree that Bollywood movies are outclasses etc. They are also gr8 technicians, actresses and one of the best directors in Hindi. And we are all Indians and lets not forget that an osar for a Bollywood movie in a world stage is a pride for a Southie too.. and same goes to our bros in North India and am sure intellectuals agree with me and thats why South Talents work as a team in Bollywood. Its some mediocre minds who divide our pride of democracy to disgust.

Yes I do agree that Bollywood has had its moments of glory...To me the 60's and 70's were the time that there were gems from Bollywood be it music, story ,direction , Star Cast ...Even now, those songs stand green in our memories...But the current genre of hindi movies (majority)are terrible (with some exceptions of course)with a very poor story line, some jarring music ,too much emphasis on Sex....

Vikram, This is true for all languages including Tamil. There will be hardly any movies ( say 4-5 per year) that are really good. 60s and 70s movies of all languages were good not only Hindi. Even South Indian movies. To say only Tamil movies are better is just fanatic. But agree there is better market for Tamil and Hindi movies. Nevertheless even Kannada movies the standard is quite high and we have very talented young directors and actors.

hey do u know telugu directors have made their presence before to any other directors from any south india language other than telugu.KRR,K.Vishwanath have made good and blockbuster movies in hindi.

May be you are right, BUt now a days there are quite a good movies produced in kannada also.
