Dear I think ur knowledge is limited best described as peice of shit.Do u know not long ago Bruce willis told that Mr.Bhachan is a bigger star than most of hollywood actors.Well if Hritik is over rated then I think u haven't seen any of his movies. It's just that the asians haven't been given their due in hollywood. You people only give terrorist roles to asians.Ur own hollywood directors r comming to India & have expressed their desire to work with Shahruk,Amitabh Bhachan. So better get ur knowledge right.

I am not sure who is being addressed here. But I did not know that Bruce Willis represented Hollywood. I am not aware of how many bengali/mal/tamil films Bruce has seen in his career.
This is the problem with us. The negative comments that come from the west are condemned in all blogs in the WWW. But when someone says something good, then we consider him/her god(ess), notwithstanding their amount of knowledge (valid or invalid).

And regarding asians being given their due in Hollywood. How many chinese/vietnamese movies have we seen or applauded. Same goes with hindi/mal/bengali movies in Hollywood. Why will they give an award to a movie that they cannot make a word out of.
Besides, I dont see what due is being discussed here. If we need an oscar, then all that needs to be done is simple.
* Make a big hue and cry about racism in hollywood, and the impact (indians not getting oscars in every edition). Shilpa can give us some training on that. Once that is done, see the way oscars rain down on us, just like offers coming in for her.

Dude if our actors and directors of Bollywood are so good, and we dont need Western whatever, my question is simple, why the heck do we keep on copying Hollywood movies? Why dont we come up with our own scripts?
If Mr B feels we dont need the West, why the hell does he act in 3rd rate remakes of Hollywood movies. Why did he act in that shameless rip off of Reservoir Dogs, Kaante? Why do we shoot all our movies in UK, Swiss, NZ and Australia? Why not in India?
Come on Bollywood, please stop showing off your fake pseudo culture and pretend ur India's ambassador.

We Indians dont treat our movie industry equally... Bollywood is over rated expect for few films like Black, RDB etc.. While Malayalam and Bengali film makers make more realistic ones.. SRK, Amitaabh and the rest of the "BOLLYWOOD stars" have more of a glam factor and btw how many National awards have they one btw them.... I think there are other more talented actors... Mamooty, NaseerudhinShah, Nana Patekar, Kamal Hasan, Mohan Lal.... SRK, Amitabh, Abhishek, Salman...are crap barring few movies

Dear friends dont fight.... there is a different class of films that we are talking about! The movies that go to the Oscars and that finally win! Indian moview feature year after year in the Oscars dont even get nominated and if they do they never win! Reason most of the movies which went to the Oscars, be it Lagaan or RDB had Indian bashing the white fellas! You think they would take that???? Anyways purely speaking the level of direction and cinematography of the West is far ahead of ours! You can tell when you watch a print! Of course there are exceptions!

With some many revelations (many movies are crap etc ...) how can we expect to win an oscar. It is like a software engineer writing a program to multiply two 15-digit numbers, and expecting that he get a patent for that.
Our actors are good, no doubt, but within India. Outside India, their movies appeal only to our patriotic bhai-behen. Just imagine an american family spending a saturday evening watching a hindi movie (in hindi, without subtitles).
We need to be real. We want to win oscars, do movies that appeal to Hollywood, and at the same time reflect our culture. Not making a movie with the leading actors dancing in some footpath in switzerland and expecting an oscar for that.
