Water in the hands of Satyajit Ray
by Gajanan Mohite on Feb 27, 2007 04:55 AM   Permalink

Ray would have made a masterpiece of the story in Water. The make up was too glossy for a wonderful theme. John Abraham was a misfit. Seema Biswas was excellent. One feels that living in Canada and producing a film on great story has its flaws. The subaltern does not speak well. Pather Panchali, the way Ray kept the make up and one has to look at his films to learn , how to make a good movie of great story
much more realistically. Ray should be the starting point for this kind of cinema.
