This marriage

Wonder why so many people are against the coverage of this marriage? After all two celebrities are getting married, there's bound to be a curiosity element. Besides, rediff has to earn more hits on their website to be in business. All said and done, when people consciously chose to visit the particular website detailing the marriage of these particular celebrities, why complain? People should have refrained from clicking the link if they fervently believe that the marriage is a public tamasha and that coverage is a criminal waste of ether-space and that reading about it is a gross waste of time. Why read and on top of it, comment on it, which is an additional waste of time? That's kinda silly.

rediff is in publishing business, yellow or not, and they'll do whatever it takes to get them ahead. Period. And coverage of "popular"/"noteworthy"/"sensational" events is well within the ethics of publicity business. Twisting truths to suit their ideologies, misrepresentation of facts, biased coverage etc. is a different thing and a topic for 'nother day.

Two nice people are getting married, their families and friends are having fun and are spending their own money, in all the probability, and not public money. Let's wish them good luck and move on.

And for people to remark that they should marry simple and donate their money to charity smacks of hypocricy and downright stupid, imho.

just a news is fine. but why this kind of live telecast? is there no other social issues to report on? does the more important social problems/events get this kind of covering?
