Our STARS need to loose their personal things when they are playing a role on screen. May be our directors are just too scared to tell the STARS to refrain from wearing their personal stuff. hollywood stars do it. Apparently, they get complete costumes (including underwear) as part of shoots. That is why they have personal trailers where they change their clotes and get into 'costumes'.
