The Dead Man's Chest is just awesome with spectacular special effects and loads of humor. If you are an action fan and can tolerate gross and slimy stuff, you will love this movie more than its predecessor. The bad guys in the movie are more sinister than Captain Babossa and his crew. In our desi terms, Chest has more masala than Pearl and so I have to admit that it is a worthy sequel.
But to me, Black Pearl is more entertaining and less complicated (and who knows, this opinion of mine may change when I watch Chest again). Not that the story of Chest is difficult to follow, but it's just a bit too tiresome, not to mention all the unanswered questions.
Depp absolutely rocks as Jack Sparrow and can we expect any less from Hollywoods finest star? My my my! Aint he HOT? I never cared much for others well I take it back, theres Captain Barbossa portrayed brilliantly by Rush in Black Pearl. Every time I watch the movie, I feel really sad that he doesnt get to eat his apple even after the curse is broken. I am sure many of you feel the same way too.
About cliffhanger ending and too many unanswered questions, I am not really upset to be honest. In fact I really liked it, esp. the final scene before ending credits. Dont want to give away the surprise, but that one scene is enough to make me want to wait for the third movie. I am sure it will be worth the wait!
