Hi guys, I had the fabulous good luck of watching Parineeta at the premiere in Amsterdam - along with Saif, Vidya, Diya, Raima, Vindu Vinod and the whole crew! The movie is simply fabulous. I do not like the normal run of the movies generally and try to avoid them as much as I can. But this one impressed even me! I got a chance to speak to Saif after the movie and he said that he took on this role to help him grow as an actor. And boy has he done that in Parineeta! He is simply marvelous. Really shows his range and depth as an actor. Vidya Balan was quite amazing as well. Perfect for the role. Beautiful and brilliant. Music is really amazing also, ofcourse. The setting is very evocative of the 60s. All in all, a fabulous - do not miss - movie. I really did dislike the last 10 mins of the movie though - very bollywoodesque. We could have gotten the message of what the characters were trying to say and do by simple, subtle acting - which is what they did the whole movie through. And in the end, they had to hit you on the head with a hammer - quite literally - to convey emotion! Even with that, its still a fabulous movie. One the of best I have seen in a long long time.
