Steps to reduce oil consumption 1.regulating use of pvt cars, 2 reduction of Govt expenditure on cars, buses, and dept vehecles.. these govt personnel, whether IAS/IPS, and Ministers etc, are supposed to be public servants, and should set example to public by using public transport., u 3. Reduce taxes, duties on petrol & diesel., 4. Make IOC, HPCL, Oil India. ONGC, etc to be more efficient, and economic in their administration. 5.These indian companies, have british/american standards of benefits to their employees, w/o having such work ethics. 6.Lastly, Our govt must strive for better terms for trading with Gulf countries., & other oil exporting countries. 7. We must subsidize like Venezuela, so that our people have access to petrol/diesel at cheaper rates, & for this our Fm/Govt must find ways/ means to compensate oil subsidies, by reduction in Govt expenditure.

Who wants to waste time on public transport? We will need private transport irrespective of the cost. Business depends on fast independent transport. It is a myth that using public transport can solve all our worries. It will pull down the economy as well.

Everything is fine, but if we need to subsidize like Venezuela, you also need to produce oil like they do and export it...
