Oil Price Crisis
by Dhanasekar Natarajan on May 26, 2008 04:57 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I am shocked to come to now that Govt is selling petrol @ Rs.16 loss per ltr, it is big wonder, people are starving for food since the high inflation, govt is giving subsidy for upper middle Class and Upper Class!!!

people should have Social Resposibility and should reduce the use of petrol as much as possible

make a correction.. govt. is selling 25 Rs higher. actual petrol price after processing and everything don't cost more than 32. it';s the Govt. Tax that makes it's 50 Rs/li.
now why govt. don't want to give up their fat money making taxes? don't they have social responsibility?

that govt tax feeds the nation...every country in the world imposes tax on oil...since in india there is high rate of tax evasion...the govt taxes oil bcoz no 1 can evade it...

i own a vehicle...i knw we already pay high income tax....but there is no way govt can drasticallt reduce tax on oil...even in the US the taxes are quite high (not to mention that income tax is much higher)
