Price of fuel in India was the highest in the world even before the Iraqi invasion. It is the pricing mischief played by the various finance ministers that has made the Indian oil prices to remain the highest in the world.America imports oil from the middle-east and Africa and the total accumulated distance between is about 54000 kms,and the accumulated trade distance for the same oil between New Delhi and midde-east,Africa and Malaysia is 39,000 kms.Still, the prices of fuel are way higher than prices of fuel in USA.It just beats any one's common sense and makes us understand how these politicians are bleeding our economy.
