So what if the new MBA's have to put up with a 12 hours schedule? I am a businessman and I know how hard it is to make two ends meet. I work from 9:30am to 4:30Pm and then again from 5:30 till midnight. As I manage my business myself whom do I complain to?
My employees complain if they are held up in the office one hour extra. So I ask them to go home. I do there work also and don't get to sleep till midnight. Where do I go with my complain? Many times due to business worries I don't get sound sleep. I am in tention always. But I do it.

If you don't spend 4 -5 hrs OFFICE time in Tea/lunch and Gossip. You don't need to work unpaid extra office hours.
We Indians need to change our attitudes and stop thinking that MY BOSS will think I am doing more work as I stick around in the office for more hours even with 1% productivity in those 16hrs!
Your Boss is enough matured and has gone through the same phase and knows what all do.
I will say, if you are paid for a 9am to 5 pm job, stick your ass on the chair and DO the WORK dont just hang around and do the jobs for which people are already there just like ordering Tea, Printing NEWS article, FORWARDING the shit E-Mails to your girlfriends and family members.
If you take out this time from your working schedule, you will know you are just using 2-3 hours to work out of the 16 hrs spent in office.

Please change the ATTITUDE and be sincere to work. I work from 9am-5:30pm in a much B2C performance driven job, then too my BOSS can't dare to say I should stay a minute after 5:30pm, cos he knows where my ass is when I am in the office from the Reports I produce and Money I bring into the business.

Hope this helps to all the WORMS who hang around in office wasting Nations Resources like ELECTRIC and Water.

Business risk at interpreanuers cost because he take risk at business cost which he altimately reaped from the bsuiness and he is the only person who benefits and so not share his profits with his employee except commission as remuneration. THis logic is typical cynically modified as you are doing charity with your employee keeping them on job. fact is you eat their time for family and social affairs which is hardship and didnot pay for this or what ever cost you pay is mandatory by law not beyond. You are owner of your business and your employees are not share holder of your business so you cannot write this way to justify your case. Indian Baniya psychology of exploiting the blood of employees is age old practice and its mideval age practice DOn't justify this tendancies. THis is cruel and against humanity. YOu have lust for money doesnot mean employee sacrifice their own life for you.

Mr.DinuBhai, Please come out of India and see how public in other countries except Asian COuntries live halthy life may they donot have wealth but at least social life is better. Personal growth good life style and weekends of two days are mandatory and people spare this time with freinds, family and society in celebrations. But Indians developed tendancies that forcefully working and exploiting employees on faulty promises. US, Europe and world believe in human life needs rest, healthy society and sharing social harmony etc. Its not that we borne to die for one cause to earn livelihood and donot enjoy life and just eat and feed our families. We have to learn how to respect human being and to every individual in society from westerners and Africans as well as Japanees.

Bhajiya Bhai... I have been in Europe for quite some time and observed their lives closely. Westerners know how to enjoy life. I agree with you. I as a businessman work hard and I treat my employees with respect and I honour the labour laws. Infact in my case I feel my employees exploit me.
As a feesh MBA there is nothing wrong if you are asked to go from door to door for market survey. Not everyoen can expect to be in an AC office planning marketing stretegies.
I started my life as a lawyer. Though I gave up this profession I still remember how as a fresh law graduate I was once asked to just go through the brief and check for spelling mistakes. No work should be looked down upon.
