well everything is money, if the gatekeeper is paid 30k permonth, then the guy is happy doing that job even if he is an MBA.
the same thing happened with generations of IITans, and graduates from premier institutes, all have become typists(programmers) leaving their original skills for money.
india always needed engineers & R&D in similar field, but all have become typists. we cant make bridges in years, railroutes takes years to complete, indian roads take ages to complete, we cant make hitech euquipments, this is engineering.
i feel all indian engineers are equal to gatekeepers. so nothing bad to feel about the low grade enginering colleges, its just these colleges cudnt sell well to the corporates.

well said.. i totally agree on this. SW engineers really are no more than typists now catering to the needs of a handful of ppl - the so called clients that we have lost the real crux of everything. Interestingly we are so proud of s/w tech but the truth is any new tech which becomes popular in India takes at least 3-4 years to make its mark here. Its just the same we are always dependent...
