The artificial pressure in the name of economic boom is doing no good to professionals and their families - only adding to the fat bottomlines of companies and big ticket bonuses for the top bosses. We Indians are a harried lot. There is really not much qualified talent in India. It is a myth that everybody who does an MBA is really good talent. It is also a myth that everybody from an IIM is very good. We have a short supply of quality manpower. Please realise that half the time, people are stretching because of their insecurity about keeping their jobs. In reality for most jobs, the good guys are probably the best suited. If companies have the attitiude that manpower can be replaced at will, they are mistaken. The cost in terms of loss in productivity and loss of knowledge from the company system far outweigh the arrogance of 'You are Replaceable' syndrome. Companies need ot wake up to this reality and start treating employees in a more humane way and a great deal of respect. Nobody is a 'baap ka naukar'. Family misses the breadwinner on Diwali, son's first birthday, etc because an unreasonable boss somewhere has set unrealistic targets and cooling his heels at home from 6 pm every evening and takes all holidays due to him. Put an end to this exploitation. And wake up employees. If the opportunity is big, hire more people and incur more expenses. Don't be leeches.

Unfortunately people do not demark line betwen hardwork and exploitation of labour is rootcause of this problem. One must understand hard work yeilds in 8 hours same results as much someone work for 40 hours week. exploitation of working hours is physical not intellectual input into creative or value addition to any business. But we Baniya has fostered tendancies to make life of other specially employee missirable to satisfy how I exploit maximum return on investment on employees forcing to work 12 hours for paying 8 hours is brainchild of Indian small traders psychology whic is apparant in some lucky midium size business employers. The same tendancies are carried by some accounts and finance people for human capital investment concept and CEO people have did same to prove their metal as good adminstrator.

It is a different matter that most of the recently graduated MBAs - irrespective of the institute they are from - think no end of themselves
