Keep the Begumpet airport open
by Suresh on Mar 18, 2008 11:47 AM   Permalink

The new airport developers seem to be scared of competition. If their swank new airports are the best, then let them make it attractive for people to use it. Charging a high user fee from passengers, an expensive taxi ride (as much as the airticket in many cases), throughput fuel charges and high ground handling charges are queering the pitch. We need an airport which is clean, neat and easy to reach. And the Shamshabad airport does not fulfill that. Let both Begumpet and Shamshabad remain open and let people decide which one to use.
