What is the cost?
by purna on Mar 08, 2008 12:10 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Veg oil costs almost double of petrol. The article does not give fuel economy figures. We better consume all the mined fuel before venturing into alternate fuels. If veg oil will also cause environmental pollution if consumed in large quantities.

First, we are not the last survivors to mine all fuel for ourselves, knowing what it will mean for the future generations.
Second, veg oil comes as a natural biological product and is part of carbon cycle which is not unidirectional, as long as we keep planting and maintaining trees. And thus in absolute terms do not cause uncompensable pollution.
