India's vast population

Whether it is population, goods or services, what matters really is its QUALITY. Look at India's dismal position on the UNDP's Human Index. We are close to the bottom! If we are to benefit from our human assets, we need to empower them, provide them the right environment to progress. When Indians go abroad, they do much better than they are able to when they are in India. In India, a majority of our people are divided on the basis of castes, regions, gender, etc. 'Unity in Diversity' remains a good slogan, but in practice, diversity remains a divisive force. Regionalism is on the rise. Some states have started talking about 'No Tax to the Centre' because they feel what they get from the Centre in return is less. They however forget the cost of our Defence establishment, Law & Order machinery, Monetary System management, etc. Regional Selfish interests overshadow 'natiionalism'. We need to develop a collective feeling for our country, and the common interest of its vast population. With the type of politicians we have, and their deep rooted nexus with the undersirables, only God can save Indians. So Help Us God.

At the same time taxation should have some representation. If some states feel they are neglected, that problem should be addressed. But what happens is if the center and state are from different parties then the state suffers when it comes to allocation of funds.
