Double standards
by Mysore NarasimhaRao on Jun 05, 2008 02:30 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

The Left parties are more interested in retaining their position to wield power in the Centre than the interests of the common man. This Bandh is only a eye-wash since they must have been the first to know about the proposal to hike the prices of petroleum products but could do nothing about that. If they really care about the Common Man so much, they should have withdrawn support to the UPA government on this issue - this is more relevant to the common man than the Nuclear deal with the US. The Left can never force any real issue on the UPA Government - they keep on sending threats - and by now everyone knows how serious those threats are. I am sure the Congress doesn't even look at some of those threats as they are sure the Left can never leave them and pave way for a BJP Government. The UPA Government should go ahead now with the Nuclear Deal also as the Left has no alternative but to continue supporting the UPA till the General elections whenever the Congress likes to hold them.
