Transformation
by Rohit Agarwal on Jul 15, 2008 10:58 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

The transformation began in 90s with emergence of free market economy, dilution of political and economical boundries. Now countries who always stood with their hand open to receive aids are contributing to global economy. Lets not take any country as referal and bench mark for our preformance or growth. We have our need, compulsions and resources. This give us our identity. With time every thing changes, it is the matter of interpretation, what we label it as good or bad. Thing will keep on changing in future and every thing has it lifecycle.

If it is Indira Nooyi's rise to CEO of PEPSICO, she deserves the recognition she is getting now. But her speech is too optimistic when we look at the current world scenario. The world is not the same as it was in 2007. US is in deep trouble. Large Corporates are restructuring, cutting jobs and closing operations. Pity that she is at the helm of one of them. So is the much talked after CEO of Citi bank Mr. Vikram. They are all not that comfortable in that positions I can bet. The smart US Mgmt just handed over the baton to some Indian genius to see the fun. He knew US is in a big mess and their future is bleak. Now India will also see this slowdown. It takes less time to melt down this India shining story. The 'signs' are visible now. Or it will become clear in 2008 - 2010. Her speech has less relevance now.
