delhi no way can be a commercial capital...its the mumbai tax which is benefiting delhi ....and as far as corporates are concerned ambanis birlas tatas ...so no other city can match this as they account for almost 40 50 companies under their group....and as far as IT sector is concerned the corporate head quarter of indias largest it company TCS is in mumbai....all big investment banking ,consulting ,insurance ..big banks like icici have their head quartrs in mumbai....delhi can no way match mumbai ...and as far as infrastructure is concerned the metro was direly needed to be implemented first in mumbai but the centre choose the undeserving capital delhi....and the work for metro is atlast started and first pahse getting completed in 2010...too add to this navi mumbai airport and whole lot of sezs in navi mumbai....so prspects of delhi look bleek overatking mumbai even in a century

Tax collection is determined by where the registered office of company is located. Tata produce car and steel in Jharkahnd, make buses in lucknow and darward, all these things are used all over india. But tax gets collected from Mumabi because registered office is there. It does not mean tax belong to mumbai. it is paid by each and every consumer of tata all over india. Come on man..accept that Mumabi is pathetic city and it sucks me every day...I am sure you also take local and pay exorbitant rent for pathetic property..I have not problem in saying that my mumbai is dying every day
Business/Entrepreneurs earn the maximum profit as they take the maximum risk, and these entrepreneurs have chosen and flourished in Mumbai. It is this entrepreneur's profit which is getting taxed.. not the steel from Jharkand. Do not confuse between the two.
It is the callous 'planning era' step-motherly treatment towards Mumbai who have not re-invested the tax money back into Mumbai to support the increasing load of migrants pouring into the city.

marathis always take pride in money of outsiders in mumbai, or tax paid by outsiders in Mumbai
Where are the "son of soil" in mumbai?...they are all drivers, maids, house helps etc....whereas the top brass in Mumbai is from "outside", particularly from north...look at Birlas, Bajajs, Jindals, Naresh Goyals all north Indians..while Ambanis are Gujaratis....Entire Bollywood is run by North Indians be it actors, producers or major production houses

Dude wake up and think rationally... I am proud mumbaikar too but having visited delhi and Noida I can vouch that so called dream of our rural CM to make it Shanghai should be first transformed into making it as good as Delhi in Infra concerns and then we can even think about other places. The only thing in which mumbai wins hands down is security though mob culture has already made it Bihar(if thats the epitome of lawlessness). The taxes which you speak is just because of corporate offices and has nothing to do with Mumbai...I am sorry to state it but thats the fact. Look with statitstical bend and not emotional one.
The article is very true(whether we love to hate it)!!!
