The reason for faster growth of Delhi region is becuase of 1. Central govt which gives 10 times more preference to NCR over all other cities combined. Consider the fuel prices, infrastructure projects in NCR, and indifference to infra projects in Mumbai inspite of contributing 40% of countries taxes. 2. All MNC's for whom it makes sense to be near the capital city of a corrupt country than a financial center of a third world country. 3. Inefficient and uneducated local politicians of Maharashtra

Mumbaiwalas are the most indiffrent, when it comes to corruption. Thus, the cost of doing everything in Mumbai, be it infrsatructure, or even the smallest house job, is 20-30% more in Mumbai. One can understand it in a newly established place like Gurgaon, but in an established city, one expects better. USe RTI to see the amount of money that has been spent on infrastructure in Mumbai, and you will wonder where the money went. So forget asking for more money or blaming the centre, people need to wake up first.
