Bad bosses
by Rajaraman on Jan 01, 2008 01:08 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

This happens. When the boss is good he is taken for granted.Relationship is good but effectiveness is bad. If the boss is bad, there is acrimony, people leave, but day today job is done out of fear.
In an ideal situation boss need not be bad, but the subordinate has to self propelled, k nowing the responsibilty, time conscious and result focussed. But in present worl, both are at fault.
Boss fells he is super human, insensitive, arfrogant, unreasonable, abusive as well abrasive. the subordinate is indifferent, self seeking, and i dont care type. Then the problem start.
One more situation is also there if you dont tell the problems to your boss they feel they are not involved and there is no problem and everything is hanky dorie. If you tell the problems to them they feel you dump your problems on them and you are ineffective.
So one need to be judicious in takling the problems to the boss.
Simple mantra is
Try to get along or go along if both fails get out.
