I condemn
by Ashwath on Feb 29, 2008 03:17 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Being a farmer I condemn the decision of waiving of formers loan. This will not encourage agriculture. To encourage the agriculture governament has to create a system which will enable formers to pay their debts and leave proudly.

Mr. Kumar
Do you know the subsidy we enjoy on Cooking Gas(LPG) whereas the rural folks use cowdung and weeds for their cooking?
Why we cry when Farmers get benefit and we never bother on subsidies we enjoy as working class. People like you cannot afford to ride cars if petrol subsidy goes.

We must understand that 70% indians depend on agriculture. If the poor farmers gets a waiver then he deserves it. Who has got problem? Don't be a spokesperson for the business class who do not represent even 10% of the population. An industrialist can buy a mercedes benz @6 or 7% interest, whereas a farm loan is @14%. why this disparity? Even a farmer is a taxpayer. Don't think that only salaried class and business class people pay tax ! For everything except oxygen he also has to pay tax.

Hi Krishna, I think you have not understand the moto behind loan waiver. It is to gain the votes of the formers. Do you think loan waiver will sove the problems of formers completely? Never. Agriculture sector has to be given industy status, proper rates for the crops, isnsurance and many more needs to be done. But for this purpose tax payers money should not be used. If you don't understand all this you must shut.
