deterrence to IIM

This is going to act as a deterrence to lower middle class.
It seems now common man cannot join IIM without scholarship ( just like to study in US universities).

No...that's a wrong way to look at things...
1. Banks are more than happy to shell out education loan to a guy who has made it to any of the IIMs.
2. Looking at the Return on Investment, it seems good. You might be paying 7-8 lakhs but that can be repaid easily in 4-5 years.
