See the railway is now a profitable organisation. But wats the main reason behind it?? Its the people of India..... Any doubts...See the methodolgy employed by Lalu is very tricky. I would definitely appreciate that. Like the implementation of certain things like 1) Booking of tickets in advance of 3 months(Woh do ya ek mahine mein kya problem tha!). The clever would understand the point behind! 2) The trick involved behind Tatkal tickets... So I would say again "The formula is same, but the methodology is different"..... But the ground realities are very different. Lots and Lots of things to improve and upgrade! The outer cover of the book is very cute and well designed... but not the actual inner contents(which is more important!!!)

bandhu jab main yeh keh raha hun, you are not with happy with me, I am just saying what people are not analysing. Brother people like us want more security, where our railways lack most, we don't want to see more snacthings, rapes, bomb blasts, passengers without tickets. Also platform tickets should be very expensive, so that only the needy people can go upto the platform, this will help both in security as well as to the people who need someone to accompany like Old passengers can go....

It will only burden the honest man who really pays for the platform ticket. Most of the public do not buy platform tickets period

I would also like to add the most important point that 25k Crores money has been earned as profit. But the basic amenities should be improved as my friend Vishal has added.... like the security to women, and overall security in train, .... and yes the minimization of ticketless travel! We are concentrating more on technology rather than at the ground realities!! That shud be but only after the basics!!

Dear Friend Now itself 8 policemen escarded each train.
Providing police security to everyone is not possible.
Mean time we are also take care of this accordingly.
Even In US also lot of looting and other thinks are happening, we as a huge population and poor states it is quite comman, we should take steps to avoid keep gold and Money openly and we should use train clean etc etc.
This is each and every one responsibility.
We should not blame the Minister and the state for every thing.

You are perfectly right! Yes we should also act as individual our responsibilities... Yes taking the example of cleanliness itself...We all should take this responsibilty as a individual and not throw papers or chocholate cover on platforms....Its easy blaming the officials ... but we should also co-operate!!

Human, Travel in second class, and you will know where are the policemen, I had reservation once, but I had to drop the train because there were so many biharis inside the wagon, without reservation , capturing all floor and seats. I know how I missed the train, when approached on railway police man, he said I can't do anything, its rush time, how funny ...isn't it

Yes I am amazed such educated people who use internet, are fighting on cultural issues everytime they get opportunity, they just look that person belongs to which caste/region/etc. And neglect the real issue.

The final message I could actually extract from the whole forum and discussion i had with some members: 1) WE SHOULD BECOME MORE RESPONSIBLE AS A INDIVIDUAL TRAVELLER. 2) TO IMPLEMENT THINGS .... WE SHOULD ENCOURAGE CAMPAIGNS LIKE THE "LEAD INDIA" CAMPAIGN, SO AS TO GET RID OF FILTHY POLITICIANS :-)
