Sir, I wish the author also went ahead and gave an opinion of how India could reduce carbon emissions. We have a large number of poor and lower middle class people, who have great aspirations for products and services that make the quality of their lives better, which is presently enjoyed by only a minority. Should we curb our desires or should we use science and technology more efficiently to invent new ways to consume less resources? Or should we do both? In what all ways? Politicking and canvassing will always go on. Yes, we should be aware of it and try and lessen the evils therein.

There are enumerous ways that India can select from when it comes to energy generation without sacrificing our dreams and aspirations. 1. Sign up the neuclear deal so that majour uranium resource holder like australia could supply us uranium. 2. We have thorium resource that we can try to use to generate power from neuclear plants.3 India is blessed with abundant sunshine. Make it mandatory for offices, malls and even big houses to setup solar panels. 4. Set up solar panel fields. 5. Make public transport efficient so that people would use them to travel. 6.Set up sophisticated waste incinerating plants that would generate electricity. 7. Ban usage of old polluting vehicles 8. Promote municipalities, farm lands to use their own electricity by usage of windmills/solar panels 9. Acquire technology to generate power from other reneuable souces like sea-waves. We can have as our model self sufficient cities in countries like Denmark, Sweden and Germany. The quality of air there is so high that instead of wasting their money on hospitals they use it efficiently on de-centralised power generation. No wonder they are called *developed*
