kirana shops and small merchants
by sahi on Oct 09, 2007 03:34 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

kirana shops and small merchants have been ripping off the indian consumer and the farmer for decades now. It's high time the face the heat and get some competition. Lower/competitive consumer prices end up creating disposable income for the middle class which in turn is a big engine for the overall economy.

Exactly! When the prices of onions rise, then what are these crooked Left-wing politicians doing to provide price relief? Are they telling these kiranas to stop their price-gouging? Nope, because the politicians are corrupt cowards. The consumer matters more than the seller. My money, my choice, my right -- not yours, kiranas.
