Are you not jumping from risks taken by individuals to risks taken by individuals.
And everybody cannot be in the position of NRN or Bill Gates. We cannot be comparing ourselves to them. This will create a expectation issue.
We should compare ourselves with ordinary mortals.
Take the 80 yr old vegetable vendor who walks all over our colony (i have given a pic and detail in my blog chamundilldotblogspotdotcom) everyday. When i talked about risk to him, i understand what it really means.
Really, if we have any courage we should look at our surrounding and draw inspiration.

I believe people are misinterpreting the article. This doesn't advocate blind risk taking. It suggests there are bigger successes that can be achieved by doing so (though not by everybody). The author had also pointed out other areas like "constructive dissent" and "dealing with failures" not taught at B Schools.
