I do not understand what is so big to be pride about Indian community in the US or any other country for that matter. You are trying to portray as if Indians are the only people started business in the US and become successful. US is the country of everyone. People are there from almost all countries. More over, US was already a developed country. I do not think Indians have done anything great that others have not done. Most of the Indians are working as cyber coolies. The fact is that it is easy to start a business and become successful in the US. But it is very difficult to become successful in India.
In the 21st century, we still follow pathetic caste system, female infanticide is prevalent and dowry as well. Let us eradicate these evils first, and then we can talk about our so called pride. Even after working abroad so many years, NRI still follow the pathetic caste system and regionalism in the name of so called culture as in India. They refuse to integrate with main stream and live in isolation. Many people desperately plan such a way that their kids will born in the US so that they will become US citizen. What happened to their patriotism???

Dear Prakash, Do you know what is the sickest thing with us Indians? We are like crabs who do not let others to succeed in life and feel jealous if some one is successful. Now, instead of joining hands in clapping some one successful, you are starting to criticize his achievement. Now, I am asking you.. Since you are trying to be a cry baby on some one's success, tell me what did YOU do for your country that your family or fellow country men should be proud about? If your answer needs a long thought... then you do not have any right to criticize someone's achievement.

Man you are one disturbed personality!!
"Even after working abroad so many years, NRI still follow the pathetic caste system and regionalism in the name of so called culture as in India." - This is absolutely untrue people in US don't ask for anyone's caste and eat drink have relations and marry in any family that has good reputation. In fact only out of India you will see a true Indian national integration. "
They refuse to integrate with main stream and live in isolation." - To a certain extent this could be true but only the first generation this was true of all the immigrants, Chinese, Italians, British Dutch and Germans have still maintained their traditions in US. Many of them still after several generations do business only within their community. Even though they all look alike. As the kids grow in US they are much better integrated. Tell me if a south India goes to UP does he stop eating Idli Sambhar? And shy away from becoming a member of Bharat Natyam academy? Even though people around him look like him and have same religion he will still seek out South Indian Society and at least try to spend some time while working with his north Indian Colleagues. His kids if they decide to stay there may be better integrated to UP.
Admit it man, be positive, People abroad and hardworking people in India in Back office Call Center and IT as well as the Indian Business people have taken the country%u2019s name to new heights. One whole generation has worked hard to change the image of the country. Now people take India%u2019s name in the same breath as china. In fact people say India-China and not China-India. Don%u2019t lose this opportunity by being a crab, crabs always remain in a container they don%u2019t need a lid because they don%u2019t let each other climb out. The world is big and there is enough for everybody if we stop back biting and work together.

Dear prakash, its too easy to start a business in an underdeveloped country but too tough to bring a business in developed country like USA.People do struggle there to make their living since the laws and regulations are very stringent still they manage to become successfull.if they feel proud for themseleves then they are worth of it. i admit that unless and untill the pathetic caste system will end we are not going to become an developed country. Thanks Baiju John
