The comments are sad and unfortunate
by chaitanya s on Mar 25, 2007 01:18 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

It is surprising to note that those who make offensive, offhand comments against successful and hardworking people like Indra Nooyi themselves are not as successful and are involved in relatively poorly paying jobs in call centres or IT companies in India. I feel these people are simply jealous of the success of other people. That these successful people have worked extremely hard to get there and the fact that they all come from hardworking middle class families who cannot boast of great wealth and prestige, doesnt seem to have any effect on those who make comments.

Perhaps, by making such comments, they are simply venting out the frustration they have accumulated on account of the failures in their own lives. They cant stand the fact that an Indian, like you and me, can be as successful as any other businessman in the world. They probably relate their own position with that of these successful people and develop a sense of insecurity. That insecurity leads to lack of self respect and this lack of self respect translates into offensive and prejudiced comments against other successful people. Maybe these people should start looking at and examining their own capabilites and successes before making judgements on the capabilities and successes of other people. It reflects poorly on their intellect and personal integrity.

Rightly Said!!. Even in this article he mentioned that he worked in restaurents and washed dishes to earn and save for his higher studies. I know lots and lots of college students both of indian origin as well as from this country work in fast food restaurents (a.k.a burger flipping). All these guys come from decent middle class background. They don't see that as low when they are here. That not only give them some money but also teaches life skills to survive and subseqently succeed in USA.

Grow up guys!! If you want to be an enterpreuner work for a hard nosed one and learn the skills with right attitude. Don't make offensive remarks on others successes. If you really look at it, you are where you are and the successful person is way way above you.

My 2 cents
100% you are spot-on.
Reading some foolish comments questioning Indra Nooyi or any successful people. I also thought what you people wrote
Success stories are not created they are born.
Pass on success news to all other fellow Indians, not throwing some useless comments and making thousands of people like us blasting these comments.

rightly said I am going through all the comments and those offensive comments are purely ebbing off their frustration and jelousy and nothing else....they can't realize the world around them and can't accept the factors of success of others
