NDTV, BBC, CNN show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. The World is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Finally, the Judicial Committee drafts the Prevention of Terrorism Against Grasshoppers Act [POTAGA]", with effect from the beginning of the winter.
Arjun Singh makes Special Reservation for Grass Hopper in educational Insititutions & in Govt Services.
The ant is fined for failing to comply with POTAGA and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government and handed over to the grasshopper in a ceremony covered by NDTV.
Arundhati Roy calls it "a triumph of justice". Lalu calls it 'Socialistic Justice'. CPM calls it the 'revolutionary resurgence of the downtrodden' Koffi Annan invites the grasshopper to address the UN General Assembly.
Many years later...The ant has since migrated to the USand set up a multi billion dollar company in silicon valley.100s of grasshoppers still die of starvation despite reservation somewhere in India.

what a chilly story!!!! Has ever U studied the Biolgy.... Do U know the speciation, species characteristics...species specificity... Neither Grasshooper can live in Ant's house, nor ants can fly.. they have their own life style, own kind of survival...Dont campare these 2 for the sake of writing, like our Greatest epics/puranas.. Have you seen any Brahmin ruler in the history of Hinduism?
1. Krishn got Agrapuja (First Prayer) in Mahabharat by Brahmins. Krishna was a Yadav (BC). He got agrapuja because of his knowledge and good deeds. 2. Ram Chandra of Ramayan is worshiped by Brahmins though he was a Kshatriya. He is getting worshipped because of his good deeds. 3. Gautam Budh, Mahaveer Swami all are worshiped because of their good deeds not because where they are born.
Brahmins have sacrificed for India a lot. It%u2019s shameful that people like you do not recognize it. Dr. Ambedkar was promoted by the upper class, because of his good deeds. To get that kind of respect one has to show some merit. Without merit even a god is not worshiped.
So do not blame Hinduism for the segregation of the society back then. It%u2019s all in your mind. Until you start developing your merit nobody will think of you whether it%u2019s Hinduism, Sikhism, Christienity or what ever.

Good story; few of my grasshoper friends with low score were able to get govt jobs in universities without much effort in studies. My other friends who are ranks students are now settled in US, having good time.

Mr ant. Reservations existed in the country for the last what 30 years. Hinduism (that means india) is the oldest faith in the world( older than Judaism) which means it existed long before birth of christ atleast few thousand years before that. So grasshoppers suffering was since of birth hinduism. There was not much of media 30 years ago and there is no way to assess what their sufferings were. Now that you wrote such an interesting story why dont you please do one thing. Tomorrow when u step out of your house for work or college, ask every poor person ( by your own criteria) whether he belongs to a forward caste or backward caste. Now every one of us know that India is just starting to grow and there is more demand than supply.But whatabout INdia before last 15 years ago. These grasshoppers were trapped in the cycle of poverty for the last thousands of years. The problem with these "economically backward" forward caste people is that " every one around them like their friends, family are all super rich" and they are just helpless and want money to meet their endless material desires. But that is not the case of "most of the backward class people". And read and sink what sai gundavelli said" The wealth in India is still controlled by a small percentage of the people in the country(ants), so even if their parents are educated people, they may work in low-paying, civil service jobs (grasshoppers). There is no way it is possible to break the entrenched social system and the cultural barriers (caste barriers)over there.
Because of people like you the whole hindu community is losing its people to other religions in the name of conversions. Just for being a "hindu" you call them BC and SC. Most of the people out there who represent Hindu communiites are the backward caste people. All these ants( forward caste people) are not ready to loose their identity as ants, but fight for "no reservation on caste basis". First of all let the forward caste people give up their caste name and identity and then talk about other caste people leaving reservations.
Every one talks about discrimination of blacks by whites in America. That probably lasted for 150 years. Next time when u say that think of what happened to these poor people for the last 5000 years. Buddha left hinduism, Lord Mahavir left hinduism, King Asoka left hinduism for buddhism and there will be so many leaving. my common man dont be born as a backward caste in Hinduism. Thanks
