Getting PF transfers is a PAIN
by on Jun 25, 2007 12:24 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

EPF is a superb instrument no doubt..however the problem is that we change jobs nowadys almost every 1-2 years and so getting PF transferred from one employer to another is really tough..its a very lengthy process and takes years at time..currently my PF has not got transferred for almost over a year..and its been 4 years that i have been contributing but I have no idea how much total amount I have in amy PF account. There is no way you can get a statement from the PF office. This just leaves a bad taste in the mouth. If someone can guide me getting a PF statement it would be wonderful.

Regards

Amit Jain

If ur case has been transferred to RPFC, new delhi and they are not responding to ur case then send a letter to RPFC office through RTI (Right to information act)to inform you about ur case and why it is pending. They go ahead as per reply.

Please check if your organization has registered for NSSN (National Social Security Number). This is like a permanent PF number allocated to you and when you shift jobs, you dont need to open a new account. You may simply inform your new organization that you have NSSN and would like to get your PF contributions credited there. This will be completely hassle free for you to track your funds and not open new accounts every two years.
