While its important to have satisfied employees, that cannot be be objective of an company and more so the objective of a service company like an airline. This strike will only add losses to the airline and if the airline is not in profit, the employees and other stakeholders cannot expect benefits. Today disruptions of services by means such as strikes are no longer effective bargaining tools, they seldom succeed, rather unions have to learn the art of lobbying and nondisruptive negotiations. This will earn them the support of the public and of stakeholders like the govt. There are too many losers in this strike - Passengers, the Airline, Employees, the Govt and ultimately the tax payers. Does this strike justify the loss caused to all these parties - the unions must ask this of themselves.

If and only if the employees'unions in any of the PSU understood basic principle of work ethics and not fought only for rights and privileges forgetting their duties very faithfully, we all the suffering citizens would not have had this fate. It is too much of job security that pampers these belligernt employees who have limited objectives of promoting their own cause only with total disregard and apathy for ordinary citizen. It is time for the GOI to think in terms of overhauling entire IR related antiquated laws so as to bring a certain degree of efficiency in the operations.
