i used and settled a credit card about 7 years back. Now the bank claims at that poin of time one of my settlement istalment cheque bounced(Rs.3200).I didn't remember that and my bank at that time didn't informed me or the credit card bank. After checking the old record it was found that the said cheque was bounced.

Now suddenlt they contacted me after 7 years and say i have to pay Rs.72,000/-.they never informed me or contacted me all these years.Should i pay them or take a legal process and fight for this case.

Please advice me if some have knoweldge about these matters.

Never pay that money, mate. It is just ridiculous on how banks cheat us. Fight for it, send them a mail in registered post that you are not ready to pay and rather they are making you sick with this kind of harassment. And keep a copy of that to produce later in the consumer/ civil court. Claim 720,000 for the mental agony that you have undergone.
