There are so many private engg colleges, affiliated to universities. what abt them? Are all those people also are taken into fold or is it only IITs, NITs and some University colleges?

If at all there will be very few private engg colleges which will be in the fold. Only prestigious colleges will be included and almost all will be Govt.Engineering colleges.

Here only mentioned that engineering colleges of India. So it should be all which is affilated..

But it also says "1,520 other engineering institutions". We have lot of university colleges and we have pvt engg colleges much more in number. which means some filtering might be done. what we don't know is on what basis and how many of such pvt colleges would be covered.

Only a few, if any, private colleges will be present in the list.
The 1520 colleges are mostly govt. colleges which are accredited by the NBA and affiliated with AICTE are included. I dont think there are many private colleges that are accredited/affiliated with AICTE/NBA.
