by Manish on Jan 26, 2007 03:21 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Unlike Tata's does relaince has ever done something on the Socil responsibility part.. If we leave creating employment oppourtunity.. which they do through their various companies.. does they have ever made any free school.. or old age home or Free hospital for poor... and if the have ever made anything like that.. then does they have cared for such things.. till date... its a big question..

Dear Manish,

1. Reliance has actually done quite a bit in terms of healthcare, education and water supply at least near their manufacturing areas.

2. Employment creation cannot be just left out, that is really one of their most important contributions. A free hospital is fine, but providing a job to someone who may one day start another free hospital is remarkable.

3. I do not work for Reliance :)

I do agree that Ambani's need to do something more on Social responsibility, but I also feel what they have done for the country is great ... tought young Indians how to dream big, and from a population of a Billion just imagine five people following on Dhirubhai's footsteps ... no doubt that they have done lots for the society than u,me or most of the people reading this article ... so lets not critisise them for not doing something, but appreciate what they did.

'Social responsibility apart from creating employment oppurtunity'- man u need to read you own words....strange are the ways of socialism...they (Reliance grp) have worked hard and with honesty..created wealth..how wrong is that..I ask you - do u give you hard earned money to the "society"...the problem with our world is that we cant do things and cant make a difference in the world and not let others do it too...whenever we talk about "plurals" like society and religion, we create problems...all the problems of the world starts with these words...What you need sir is to understand- its their money- they created the wealth and its their wish if they want to spent it for any cause...do u want to be dictated on how you spent YOUR money?

Well said, Ashish. It their money. Its their wish what to do.

Donations/welfare/trust all are bull s**t. A corporate gimmick. Again its their money if they (tata) want they can donate to poor.

But what I say is if "donation is good", "providing employment is Eternal". Because first case is feeding, which dissappear in hours. Second case is giving oportunity to make food, which is forever.

Manish,
One should teach a hunger how to catch the fish. Should not feed.

It require much maturity to understand Dhirubaism
